A charming vintage Parisian scene depicting the famed bouquinistes along the Seine with Notre-Dame Cathedral rising in the distance.
Titled within the image “Paris, les Bouquinistes à Notre-Dame” and signed “Arno,” the composition features softly rendered blues, grays and muted reds, capturing pedestrians, vintage automobiles and the iconic riverside booksellers of Paris.
Presented under glass in a warm gold-tone wood frame accented with a narrow dark green liner, the piece has an appealing collected European character. An easy addition to a library, study, gallery wall or French-inspired interior.
This piece appears to be a vintage printed reproduction of a watercolor composition.
Measures approximately 14” wide, 11” tall, and .75” deep.
In very good vintage condition with expected age-related wear, including scuffs, finish loss and small nicks to the frame. Paper shows age-related toning. Original-style backing and hanging wire remain in place.
