Central Asian Buxårå (Bukhara), Özbekistan (Uzbekistan) Silk Ikat Fragment
Silk Ikat Adras Fragment from Buxårå (Bukhara), Özbekistan (Uzbekistan). Woven with silk and cotton mixed in equal amounts. Amazing saturated colors from natural dyes. It was previously part of a chapan. Now it has been put together as a panel with the help of interlining. This way, it can be solid and have secure sewing on its edges. It can easily be hanged as it is. It has an abstract modern-like design with great color combinations.
It is dated between 1870 and 1880
