An exceptional Late 20th-century upholstered bergère chair from Henredon’s Schoonbeck Collection, featuring a gracefully rounded barrel back framed in carved wood with a small foliate crest, sculpted open arm supports, carved apron, and slender tapered legs.
The chair is upholstered in a tailored plaid textile in warm tan, brown, burgundy, and muted green tones, with coordinating piping and a matching loose back pillow. The generously proportioned loose seat cushion incorporates polyurethane foam with duck feather and down filling, while the back cushion also contains feather and down, as documented on the original manufacturer’s tag.
The wraparound upholstered back continues around the exterior, giving the chair an attractive profile from all sides. The warm wood frame retains a rich traditional finish that complements the plaid particularly well.
Retains its original Henredon Schoonbeck Collection label, Henredon Upholstery Division manufacturing tag, and care label. Manufactured in High Point, North Carolina.
