1984; Machine-O-Matic (now Beaver Vending) - Newmarket, ON, Canada
Early 1980s gumball vending machine designed and patented by Ken McPhail in 1981. The "Talking Vendor" line were machines that featured a small turntable that activates upon turning the hand wheel. This particular model features a clown motif and voiceover. The voice mechanism still works, however it is a bit hard to understand save for a laugh at the end. From research we were able to find that the "voice" is stored on a small blue vinyl record that holds three jokes.
