There are some pieces that just grab your attention, but in a very unpretentious way, that is the beauty of Art Nouveau. It isn't showy or overly done. It says, elegance is simple and clean. This is a creation from Royal Dux ,it is a historic Bohemian porcelain manufacturer whose origins trace to 1853 in Dux (now Duchcov, Czech Republic). In the 19th century it won recognition for its Art Nouveau style pieces as early as the 1900s and was a major producer of Art Nouveau in the 1920s-30s, producing decorative figurines in the Art Nouveau style, often with flowing forms, natural motifs, and distinctive matte glazes. This lovely vase is an amazing example of that style and form. The elongated neck and bulb form, along with the pastels of pink. peach and seafoam green and of course gold, are true to Art Neveau's esthetic. This piece is in excellent condition. It measures 13.5" tall x 6" wide at base x 5.5" wide at bulb top. Marked on the verso in gold, D68 and incised numbers 10119V. A truly wonderful find. See less
