A signed late twentieth-century serigraph by American artist Brian Halsey titled Centrion, numbered 5 from an edition of 40 and identified as the 3rd State. The work is executed as a geometric abstraction in a concentrated palette of black, vermilion, red and burgundy and is presented framed beneath glass.
The composition is organised around a circular black field containing a precisely structured central geometric form. Repeated angular elements are layered symmetrically around the centre, with alternating passages of vermilion, deeper red and burgundy creating an optical impression of recession and projection. The restricted palette and sharply delineated geometry concentrate attention on the spatial relationships within the central structure.
The work is signed and carries both the edition designation 5/40 and the 3rd State notation. These inscriptions establish its position within the limited edition and identify the particular state of the printed image.
The serigraph is mounted beneath glass within a black frame incorporating a deep-red inner border corresponding to the palette of the print. The artwork remains visually flat within the presentation, with no visible buckling or other damage noted.
