Crafted by the legendary Schofield Company of Baltimore, Maryland, and introduced in 1905, the "Baltimore Rose" pattern stands as a masterclass in American Art Nouveau repoussé design. Measuring 4 inches long, this scarce specialty piece features a distinct heart-shaped bowl designed for measuring loose-leaf tea. Most notably for discerning collectors, this is the rare "Full Fancy Back" variant. Rather than having a plain reverse, the back of the handle is completely and densely decorated with the same dimensional, hand-wrought climbing roses as the front. Despite the heavy decoration, it remains completely unmonogrammed. The reverse neck is crisp and clearly hallmarked with "STERLING", "SCHOFIELD", and "BALTIMORE" maker's stamps nested within the floral work. A spectacular, museum-quality addition to any high-end estate silver or tea service collection I love everything about this unique, rare spoon. See less
