A striking matching pair of Renaissance Revival–style armchairs featuring richly carved wood frames, dark brown embossed leather seats and back panels, and decorative flower-form metal nailheads.
The high-backed frames incorporate carved crest details, turned spindle galleries, sculptural scroll arms, turned front legs and coordinating stretchers. Embossed motifs on the leather panels add depth and Old World character, making these substantial statement chairs especially well suited to a library, study, executive office, entry hall or formal living room.
The chairs were purchased from an Oklahoma City consignment shop many years ago. No maker’s label or identifying marks have been found, and their exact age, origin and wood species are unknown.
Sold together as a matching pair.
