Produced between 1969 and 1979, this exquisite piece was manufactured by the renowned Boch Belgium factory for the iconic Royal Sphinx line of Maastricht, Holland. The jar features a beautifully ribbed, substantial ceramic body decorated in deep cobalt blue transfer ware patterns showcasing oversized Chinoiserie-style floral arrangements, stylized scroll borders, and geometric lattices. The domed lid comes equipped with an ornate, hand-molded Chinese Guardian Lion (Foo Dog) finial, traditionally symbolizing prosperity and protection. Perfect for centering on a fireplace mantel, greeting guests on an entryway console, or grouping into a blue and white ginger jar vignette. The reverse base features the authentic underglaze blue collaboration stamp: "Made for Royal Sphinx by Boch, Holland, Delfts" along with the signature gold "Belgium" script. I love the Foo Dog and beautiful floral panels. See less
