Exquisite cast iron jardinière/planter which we believe was made in France in the late 19th-century to early 20th-century, based on the former owner's travels. With a cast iron fleur-de-lis tracery grille panel design and edging border, it is raised on four elegant lion paw feet. Nicely-sized with an impressive weight, a substantial 52 lbs., it measures as follows:

Overall: 17½” x 22½” x 8¼” H/W/D
Interior: 11¾” x 22” x 7¼” H/W/D

In excellent condition with an age-appropriate outdoor use time worn patina. Of note, a piece of the edging border is missing on one side (making it less discernible). Please look at photos 7, 8 and 9 for comparison. Photo 7 shows the intact side while the other photos show the missing piece. Again, because the missing piece is on the side, it is less obvious and in no way detracts from the jardinière’s beauty or utility. There is no makers foundry stamp. Because of the jardinière’s weight, we have discerned it to be too bulky to parcel ship and have chosen to offer it as an In-Home Delivery piece to ensure it gets to its new owner in the same condition as when it leaves us.

Exuding Old World charm and elegance, this beauty is the perfect statement piece for any European or Victorian Gothic-inspired outdoor garden space!!
