Large and impressive desk designed by the Danish duo Ejner Larsen & Aksel Bender Madsen for Willy Beck, Copenhagen, in the 1950s.
A monumental yet restrained design characteristic of Danish modernism. Measuring an impressive 180 cm wide and 90 cm deep, the desk provides an exceptionally generous working surface.
The front features drawers with original sculpted wooden handles and locks. A particularly interesting feature is the additional pull-out writing surface on the left-hand side, providing extra workspace when required.
Crafted from mahogany, the desk is carefully finished on all sides, allowing it to be positioned freely in a room rather than exclusively against a wall.
Preserved in its original vintage condition. The top and edges show signs of use, including minor scratches, variations in colour and age-related patina. The construction is solid and exceptionally substantial.
