Beautiful vintage Japanese goban, or Go board, dating from the 1960s–1970s.
Dimensions: height 19 cm, width 45 cm, depth 39 cm.

The board is made from warm-toned wood with a lively natural grain. The playing surface features the classic 19 x 19 grid with nine black hoshi points, clearly defined and still perfectly suitable for play. Its solid block form, rounded wooden feet and good weight give the piece an authentic and substantial presence.
with its warm colour, visible wood grain and simple, refined form, this goban also has a strong decorative quality. Besides being a functional game board, it works beautifully as a low display base for ceramics, bonsai, ikebana, books or small Japanese objects.
The board is in good vintage condition, with normal signs of use and age consistent with its material, age and original function.
