A one-of-a-kind upcycling piece, assembled and handcrafted in Italy by combining a mid-20th-century carved wooden base with a slender contemporary metal mesh dome.
The base is made from the body of an old solid wood table lamp, dating approximately to the mid-20th century. A circular wooden plate supports a slender metal mesh dome, embellished with a central medallion in relief, inspired by classical French art, and topped with a decorative ornithological detail.
To unify the different historical periods of the components, the entire structure was hand-painted in shades of light beige and finished with a sophisticated dark beeswax patina. This process gives the reliefs and the mesh texture a deep, three-dimensional shading, giving the whole an exquisitely worn, dusty, and authentically brocante look.
Thanks to its extraordinary 76 cm height, this unique, non-reproducible piece takes on a strong decorative value. It is ideal as an imposing centerpiece, atop an important sideboard, or displayed directly on the floor to enhance a corner in a Parisian or contemporary classic-style setting. See less
