The 100-year-old steel tank has been transformed into an impressive oversized ottoman / low bench while carefully preserving its extraordinary original surface. Decades of use and weathering have created an unrepeatable patina, with layers of original Shell yellow paint, traces of the historic red Shell logo, wear, oxidation and exposed metal.

with its impressive 112 cm (44.1 in.) diameter, this is much more than an ordinary piece of furniture. Its generous proportions and strong sculptural appearance make it a spectacular statement piece for a fashion or clothing store, showroom, office, loft, hotel, industrial interior or unique man cave.

The design has been carefully constructed with four identical integrated legs, retaining the bold industrial character and recognizable shape of the original tank.

To make the piece completely practical for everyday use, the entire surface has been professionally finished with a high-quality protective clear coating. This seals and preserves the existing patina, prevents further oxidation and ensures that the aged surface does not transfer rust or residue onto clothing or other items. The extraordinary appearance has therefore been preserved while making the piece fully functional and user-friendly.

Because the original wear and patina have developed naturally over almost a century, no second example can ever be exactly the same. See less
