These are a set of 2 Mid-Century Modern French fashion designs by the iconic designers Elsa Schiaparelli and Cristobal Balenciaga and illustrated by the leading Parisian MC fashion illustrator Rene Gruau! They date to 1945. This is the first time we have this set in our collection. These prints showcase "Modern Style" haute couture designs! The below -the -knee black dresses are dramatic and elegant. Both are shown with accompaning hat designs and long elbow length gloves. Note the cinched waistlines, the long narrow sleeves and the wonderful draping, and mid-waist detailing. These are statement designs for sure! Each model is admiring an Art Deco style figurine. The bronze tone painterly backgrounds compliment the images perfectly. Each illustration is signed by the artist Rene Gruau. Gruau's prints are highly collectible and desireable. They make wonderful wall decor for today's fashionista or vintage clothing collector.
