An iconic piece of Dutch architectural minimalism, this postmodern "Kubus" (Cube) FM60 armchair was designed by Radboud van Beekum for UMS Pastoe in 1980. Drawing clear conceptual inspiration from the geometric principles of Gerrit Rietveld and the Bauhaus movement, this chair is a masterclass in clean, functional forms.
The chair features a rigid, open-cube framework constructed from black epoxy-coated steel. Slung inside the stark industrial lines is a matching thick black saddle leather seat and backrest, offering a slightly reclined posture that balances its angular geometry with surprising comfort. With its gallery-worthy silhouette, this rare design classic makes a striking statement in any modern living/dining space, study, or executive office.
