A striking vintage Regency-style garden bench crafted from painted iron with elegant reeded strapwork. The open back features a graceful arrangement of interlacing arches and sweeping curves, complemented by serpentine arms, a slatted seat and distinctive paw-form feet.
Based on an early-19th-century English garden-furniture design, this decorative bench has a beautifully architectural silhouette that would make a sophisticated addition to a garden, covered porch, conservatory or interior entryway. The black-painted finish displays attractive age-related wear, including scattered paint loss, oxidation and surface rust, contributing to its authentic garden patina.
The bench remains structurally substantial, although its strength and stability should be confirmed before regular seating use. It is offered without a cushion. An outdoor seat cushion could easily be added for comfort and a finished appearance.
The maker is unknown. Although the bench shares certain qualities with vintage Salterini furniture, it is being presented conservatively as an unsigned Regency-style example.
