An antique Globe Wernicke 5-stack barrister bookcase crafted from Mission Oak, dating to approximately 1920. This piece exemplifies the Arts & Crafts movement with its robust construction and clean lines. Each stack features a glass-fronted door that retracts and slides into the cabinet, allowing for easy access to books while protecting them from dust. The individual sections are designed to be modular, allowing for flexible arrangement and expansion. Three sections bears the original Globe Wernicke Co. label, indicating its manufacture in Cincinnati, O., with visible markings for size and grade; two are attributed and without labels.
