A beautifully crafted and highly distinctive 1830 Charles X, Roi de France 40 Francs gold coin pendant, set within an elaborate 18-karat bi-color gold mounting. The historic French gold coin is encircled by an intricate openwork border of scrolling motifs, creating an elegant lace-like frame that beautifully complements the classical character of the coin.
The coin features the right-facing portrait of Charles X, King of France, with the inscription CHARLES X ROI DE FRANCE, while the reverse displays the crowned French coat of arms surrounded by laurel branches, with the denomination 40 FR and date 1830 and is in 21.60 karat gold.
Adding to the ornate design are eight rose-cut diamonds, each measuring approximately 3.20 mm, individually set around the perimeter of the pendant. The diamonds are complemented by rounded gold accents, creating a richly detailed, almost garland-like border. The contrasting bi-color 18-karat gold further highlights the openwork scrollwork and gives the piece a wonderful sense of dimension.
