A spectacular and exceptionally substantial pair of vintage table lamps by Chapman, dating to 1991–1992.
Designed in a dramatic classical urn or amphora form, each lamp features an open architectural body constructed of heavy patinated iron with gracefully curved vertical ribs and large scrolling handles. Brass-tone architectural accents at the bases provide a handsome contrast to the dark, intentionally distressed iron finish.
The lamps have wonderful sculptural presence from every angle. Their unusually heavy construction is particularly impressive—each lamp weighs approximately 34 pounds, for a combined weight of roughly 68 pounds.
Original labels remain underneath, including a ©1991 Chapman manufacturer’s label. An additional inventory label identifies the piece as a table lamp and is dated 03/13/92, providing excellent documentation of the period.
These would make exceptional statement lamps on a large console, substantial bedside tables, library tables or flanking a fireplace. Their classical form works particularly well in Neoclassical, Traditional, Mediterranean, Spanish Revival, Grand Tour and eclectic interiors.

Very good vintage condition with an intentionally aged, distressed and patinated finish throughout. The iron surfaces display attractive variations in color, rubbing and antiqued character consistent with the original decorative treatment and age. Brass-tone elements exhibit natural patina and surface variation. Both lamps have been personally tested and are in working condition. Original Chapman and inventory labels remain present.
