This unusual three-lamp grouping consists of two closely matched lamps accompanied by a third lamp of the same silhouette, scale and construction with a complementary alternate cutting pattern. Together, they form an intentional and visually cohesive suite while retaining the individual character of hand-cut vintage crystal.

All three lamps share an elongated classical urn silhouette composed of exceptionally heavy, clear 24% lead crystal. Each has a narrow upper neck, flared fluted shoulder, substantial central urn, tapered lower body, narrow transition and broad fluted pedestal foot resting on a round metal base.

The two matching lamps feature deep, sweeping flame-like cuts that move rhythmically around their central bodies. Curving cuts lean consistently across the crystal, intersecting horizontal dividing bands and densely cut geometric sections. Fluted shoulders and feet, elongated oval cuts and repeated thumbprint-style borders give the pair an architectural quality.

The coordinating center lamp has the same proportions, crystal construction, upper shoulder, pedestal foot and metal base, but its principal decorative cutting differs. Three floral cartouches repeat around its central body, each containing hand-cut blossoms, leaves and stems. These floral reserves alternate with deeply cut diamond-lattice panels, creating a complementary botanical pattern that distinguishes the lamp while visually connecting it to the matching pair.

In the principal presentation, the floral-and-lattice lamp is placed slightly forward between the two sweeping-cut lamps, emphasizing the collection’s intentional two-plus-one composition.

The transparent construction allows the central structural rods to remain visible through the crystal. These warm bronze-colored vertical elements are part of the lamps’ traditional construction and add visual depth within the refracting glass.

For the restoration, all visible metal components have been refinished in a coordinated custom Venetian bronze. This layered finish combines warm brown-black bronze, restrained copper variation and subtle aged-gold highlighting along selected raised edges. The round bases, upper collars, socket covers, harp saddles, adjustable harps and finial fittings have been coordinated across all three lamps.

Each lamp has been fitted with new three-way electrical components, a decorative antique-bronze key-style switch knob and a new cloth-covered electrical cord. Four-position adjustable harps provide flexibility in shade placement and are set at approximately 8½ to 8¾ inches for the shades shown.

Large clear crystal teardrop finials complete the restoration. Each finial measures approximately 2¾ inches high and 1.3 inches wide. Their elongated rounded silhouettes, crisp geometric facets, petal-shaped metal cradles and turned knurled collars add appropriate scale and sparkle without competing with the hand-cut crystal bodies.

The lamps are presented with black Victorian-style velvet fringe shades. Each shade has a compact sculptural bell profile with a 6.4-inch top diameter and 13-inch bottom diameter. The shaped velvet body measures approximately 7.1 inches high and is finished with braided black gimp along the curved vertical ribs and scalloped lower edge.

A generous 5.2-inch fringe descends from the scalloped border, bringing the shade’s total height to approximately 12.3 inches. The long, fine black fringe partially conceals the socket and upper neck while allowing the carved crystal bodies to remain prominently visible. Standard spider fitters secure the shades beneath the crystal finials.

When illuminated, warm light filters between the individual fringe threads and reflects through the deeply cut crystal, creating a richly atmospheric effect. When unlit, the combination of black velvet, clear crystal and Venetian bronze has a sophisticated, theatrical presence.

This coordinated suite would be especially effective across a large console, divided between a living room and adjoining entry, or used as a statement grouping in a formal library, dining room or dramatic primary bedroom.
