Offering One of Our Recent Palm Beach Estate Fine Furniture Acquisitions Of
A vintage matched pair of oversized bergère armchairs in the Louis XVI style with a neoclassical closed cocoon frame, ribbon-and-reed (twisted rope) carving on the seat rail, rosette blocks at the leg junctions, turned and stop-fluted tapered legs, and small scrolled volutes at the arm terminals. The generous rounded back and deep loose cushion make these a "marquise"/oversized bergère variant.
Originally acquired from D & D Building in NYC.
Includes 2 matching bolster/lumbar pillows.
