Model IW3 rocking chair by Danish designer Illum Wikkelsø, designed in 1958. The chair has a light, open construction with a broad wooden seat, tall spindle back and long curved rockers that give the profile a graceful, relaxed character.
The back rises into a gently curved top rail, while the sculptural armrests sweep upward and cross the angled rear supports. Slender spindles and tapered legs keep the substantial wooden construction visually light, with the warm surface and visible grain adding depth throughout.
Its combination of expressive curves and restrained Scandinavian detailing makes the chair a natural fit in Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian and more eclectic vintage interiors. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
designer records,
or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising
from
misattribution
