Steam-bent beechwood rocking chair in the pure Thonet tradition. The seat and elongated oval back are upholstered in fine woven cane, slightly darkened by age. The sides of the frame feature beautiful spiral scrolls, characteristic of this style, and the rocking glides curl into decorative arabesques. The wood has a honey-gold hue, typical of bentwood beech from this period.
Estimated production date: 1960s-1970s, in the Viennese tradition of bentwood furniture. The wood shows signs of aging, consistent with the piece's age and contributing to its authentic character. No recent re-caning: the caning is original.
Generously sized, suitable for an adult: height 100 cm, width 95 cm, depth 46 cm. Lightweight at 4 kg, ideal for transport. A beautiful and functional decorative object, perfect for a vintage, Art Nouveau, or Scandinavian interior.
