Elegant vintage nine-piece dining set featuring an oval satinwood extension dining table with 8 coordinating cane back dining chairs.
Purchased approximately 50-60 years ago by the current owners parents through a Washington DC area interior designer. This distinctive set has remained in the same family since its original purchase.
This table features a beautifully figured warm satinwood top accented with dark line inlay. Two removable leaves allow the table to expand.
The table has substantial carved double pedestal bases in a soft antiqued celadon/cream with parcel gilt detailing. Carved acanthus leaf ornamentation and scrolling feet give the table an elegant Neoclassical and Hollywood Regency style
8 coordinating dining chairs-2 arm chairs and 6 side chairs feature tall shaped frames, woven cane backs, carved and fluted legs, and painted and gilt detailing that complements the table bases. The seats were professionally reupholstered in a cream geometric fabric. The chairs are a beautiful complement for a traditional Hollywood Regency French inspired or traditional dining room.
