More difficult to find than the individual dessert plates, this raised serving piece makes a striking centerpiece and is especially appealing to collectors of Victorian Wedgwood and English majolica.

The stand features Wedgwood’s wonderfully naturalistic shell-form design, modeled with deeply scalloped edges and dimensional ribbing reminiscent of a nautilus or seashell. The soft pink glaze settles beautifully into the molded details, emphasizing the sculptural form.

Raised on its coordinating pedestal base, the piece was originally intended as the centerpiece of a Victorian dessert service. Today, it works beautifully as a cake or dessert stand, fruit stand, decorative centerpiece, or display piece.

The underside bears impressed Wedgwood markings and date marks corresponding to 1891.

A particularly charming piece for a collection of English majolica and equally at home in a coastal, Palm Beach, Grandmillennial, English country, or traditional interior.

Matching 1891 Wedgwood pink Nautilus dessert plates from the original service are also available separately. See less
