This early 20th-century rustic center or card table was crafted by the historic Old Hickory Chair Company of Martinsville, Indiana. Measuring about four feet wide, it was likely designed for use as a porch table, end table, dining room piece, or card table in an entranceway or lodge.
The table showcases an iconic octagonal plank top supported by a sturdy, fully constructed hickory log frame with a tailored cross-stretcher base. It boasts an incredible authentic surface with multiple layered shades of weathered green, (milk?) paint, creating an irreplaceable historic patina.
The bottom features the highly coveted early oval enclosed factory burnt stamp, dating this piece to the pre-1920 era of production.
