This traditional desk was part of the movement that came from a desire to shift away from ornate, low quality, and overly-industrialized furniture in favor of pieces more practical and made with sound construction. Of note is the lack of embellishment in regards to style, here exchanged for sturdy construction and an emphasis on utility.
