An impressive antique Wedgwood pitcher and wash basin set in the richly detailed “Brocade” pattern. Deep cobalt-blue transfer decoration depicts stylized flowers and scrolling foliage arranged within architectural panels, complemented by delicate gilt accents.
Originally made as a bedroom wash set, this substantial Victorian pair now makes a striking decorative statement in a bathroom, bedroom, entry hall, or guest suite. The pitcher also works beautifully as an oversized vase, while the basin can be displayed independently as a tabletop centerpiece.
Both pieces are impressed “WEDGWOOD.” The basin also bears the printed “Brocade” pattern name and a British registration lozenge indicating that the design was registered in 1878. Made in England, circa 1878–1890.
