The wrought iron structure has … Read more A Napoleon III style hanging lantern, dating from the second half of the 19th century. The wrought iron structure has a coppery-gold patina and is trapezoidal in shape with four sides. The upper band is scalloped, surmounted by arched brackets forming a handle, and connected to a hemispherical ceiling rose by a chain with forged links.

The glass panels are decorated with acid-etched motifs: cartouches, scrolls, and volutes in the Baroque style. The interior is lacquered burgundy red with white stenciled decorations repeating the same designs.

A brass socket visible inside indicates previous wiring, making it ready for immediate use after electrical verification.

The lantern shows wear consistent with its age: localized rust, flaking of the gilding and interior lacquering. The structure and decorative integrity remain sound; the item is sold as is.
