The tapestry is woven on Jacquard looms in wool and cotton, with an exceptionally detailed and finely rendered design. The harmonious palette of sage green, blue, burgundy, ochre and cream gives the piece a distinctive traditional French character. The reverse bears an original “Certificat de Garantie” from Les Tissages La Filandière, Fresnoy-le-Grand (Aisne, France), certifying that the tapestry was woven on Jacquard looms using exclusive patterns (“cartons”) based on authentic documents. The original certificate is included and adds an interesting element of provenance. See less
