Antique brass and iron fireplace andirons, likely American, c. 1880–1920. Made during the Colonial Revival era, their tall turned beehive-form standards, faceted finials and sculptural claw feet revive 18th-century Chippendale/Georgian hearth designs. The Centennial era renewed American interest in Colonial furnishings, inspiring finely made revival pieces such as these. Brass fronts are joined to long forged iron shanks by curved brass rear supports. Substantial architectural pair for Traditional, Colonial Revival, English Country or Grandmillennial interiors.
