Originally introduced by Alessi in polished aluminum in 1990, Starck’s celebrated design transformed an everyday kitchen utensil into one of the most recognizable objects of late-20th-century industrial design. The anthracite edition debuted in 1991 and remained in production until 2004, giving the familiar sculptural form a dramatically darker appearance. Cast in aluminum, its elongated ribbed body rises above three slender, spider-like legs, creating a form that reads equally as functional object and sculpture. The anthracite edition is now discontinued and sought after by collectors of Alessi and postmodern design. In great vintage condition with desirable patina, ready to be displayed for years to come.
