Impressive Josef Inwald Barolac art glass vase in the celebrated “Dans La Forêt” (“In the Forest”) design. This sculptural vase features a deeply molded woodland scene with tall tree trunks, exposed roots, branches and a dense textured canopy extending around the vessel.

The Dans La Forêt design dates to the Art Deco period, circa 1930s, and is associated with the Josef Inwald glassworks of Czechoslovakia. The form is documented as Barolac pattern No. 586. Because Barolac molds continued to be used in later production, the exact manufacturing date of this individual vase cannot be confirmed. It is therefore described as a circa-1930s Art Deco design / vintage production rather than definitively dated to the 1930s.

The substantial molded glass construction creates exceptional depth and dimension, with clear and frosted areas emphasizing the bark, branches and foliage as light passes through the glass.
