This is a rare and highly functional serving cart/console from the coveted "New Hampton Court Collection" by Drexel Furniture. This mid-century piece (stamped 5/56 for May 1956) is made of rich, premium wood with beautiful traditional styling. Perfect as a elegant bar cart, a dining room server, or a unique entryway console.
The unique highlight of this cart is the removable wood serving tray (see photos). The top of the console features a serpentine front, and the entire finished surface lifts off via built-in side handles, allowing you to easily carry drinks, appetizers, or tea service to your guests, and then return it as the cabinet's formal top surface.
Additional Features & Construction
* Quality Drawer: The top drawer features smooth construction and traditional Hepplewhite style brass pull handles. Inside, it has a built-in silverware divider (visible in photos).
* Cabinet Storage: Two lower cabinet doors (featuring arched paneling) open to a deep shelf for liquor bottles, linens, or serving dishes.
* Mobility: This cart is highly mobile, featuring small brass and rubber casters (wheels), making it easy to glide into place when entertaining.
