Beautiful Danish Modern teak side table manufactured by France & Son of Denmark, dating to the 1960s. The table showcases the understated elegance and exceptional craftsmanship associated with Danish mid-century furniture, with a beautifully figured teak top, sculptural tapered legs, and an open two-tiered construction.

The generously proportioned rectangular tabletop is distinguished by its subtly raised and gently curved edges, creating a refined lip around the perimeter while giving the otherwise clean-lined form a more sculptural character. The top appears to float above the supporting frame, separated by an open horizontal stretcher that adds visual depth and emphasizes the table's architectural construction.

A spacious lower shelf provides useful storage or display space for books, magazines, decorative objects, or accessories. The shelf is framed by the four tapered legs, which narrow gracefully toward the floor and give the table a particularly light and elegant appearance.

The warm reddish-brown teak displays beautiful natural grain throughout, with variations in tone that highlight the organic character of the wood. The combination of rich teak, tapered supports, raised-edge top, and open shelving is characteristic of the refined Scandinavian Modern vocabulary of the era.

The underside bears the “Made in Denmark” marking and France & Son identification. France & Son was an important Danish manufacturer whose mid-century production included furniture by prominent Danish designers; museum collections document France & Son pieces carrying the company's Denmark mark and fd branding.
