A dramatic vintage console table constructed in pine with sculptural plaster ornamentation, featuring an oversized scallop shell pedestal finished in antiqued gilt.
The richly modeled shell is detailed with layered ribbing, scrolling forms, and classical ornamentation, creating a bold architectural presence. The shell rests on a decorated plinth base with carved-style leaf detailing, while the shallow demilune-form top and lower base are finished in a softly aged pale ivory tone.
The contrast between the warm gilt shell and the lighter painted pine gives the piece a distinctly Hollywood Regency and Neoclassical character, with additional Italian Regency and Palm Beach influences.
At nearly four feet wide while measuring only 14.25 inches deep, the console has excellent proportions for an entry hall, foyer, dining room, living room, or behind a sofa. It provides substantial visual impact without requiring excessive floor space.
The painted and gilt finishes have developed an attractive aged appearance over time, giving the piece the character and depth associated with vintage decorative furniture rather than the uniformity of a newer reproduction.
A highly sculptural statement piece that works beautifully in glamorous, classical, coastal, or eclectic interiors.

The painted and gilt finishes show scattered rubbing, surface marks, discoloration, minor finish losses, and patina consistent with age and use. As expected with plaster ornamentation, there are small areas of surface wear and minor imperfections along some edges and decorative details. The top displays visible variation, surface wear, and areas of discoloration within the antiqued painted finish, particularly along the edges and across portions of the surface. The gilt shell base also shows minor rubbing and patina in areas. These characteristics are consistent with the age and decorative finish of the piece and contribute to its vintage appearance.
