The rich walnut brown surface highlights turned gallery edges, slender cabriole legs, characteristic of France furniture making in the louis xv tradition, of the louis xv period. Its patina has developed slowly and naturally over the years, the kind of depth that cannot be faked or hurried. Each mark and softened edge on a piece like this is part of its history rather than a flaw to be hidden. It is one of the better decisions you can make for the planet as well as your home, since furniture built this solidly rarely needs replacing. It is well suited to a side table or serving stand.
