Finished in rich walnut brown, this narrow walnut semainier is distinguished by seven graduated drawers, slim vertical proportions, reflecting the louis philippe sensibility of of the louis philippe period France design. The gentle wear across its surface was earned over real decades of use, not applied for effect, and it only adds to the piece's presence. Furniture like this was built to be passed down, not replaced, and choosing it today continues that same intention. Furnishing with antiques is a gentle form of good stewardship, letting well-built pieces continue their working life rather than ending up in a landfill. It is well suited to a narrow bedroom or hallway chest. See less
