Its rich mahogany finish sets off grey marble top, three drawers, bookmatched burl veneer, a hallmark of of the louis philippe period France craftsmanship in the louis philippe tradition. Its patina has developed slowly and naturally over the years, the kind of depth that cannot be faked or hurried. There is a particular satisfaction in owning something with real history behind it, rather than something made to be replaced in a few short years. It is a satisfying way to furnish a home responsibly, giving a well-made object more years of use rather than sending it to a landfill. It is well suited to a bedroom dresser. See less
