The warm ivory boucle surface highlights curved wood open arms, ivory boucle upholstery, characteristic of Czech Republic furniture making in the art deco tradition, of the art deco period. Its surface and joinery bear the honest, gradual wear of genuine age rather than a manufactured distress, evidence of a long working life already lived. An object that has already survived this long carries a kind of authenticity no reproduction can offer, and living with it means becoming part of its ongoing story. Furnishing with antiques is a gentle form of good stewardship, letting well-built pieces continue their working life rather than ending up in a landfill. It is well suited to a living room seating pair. See less
