The weathered whitewash surface highlights cabriole legs, carved apron medallion, characteristic of France furniture making in the louis xv tradition, of the louis xv period. The gentle wear across its surface was earned over real decades of use, not applied for effect, and it only adds to the piece's presence. An object that has already survived this long carries a kind of authenticity no reproduction can offer, and living with it means becoming part of its ongoing story. It is a satisfying way to furnish a home responsibly, giving a well-made object more years of use rather than sending it to a landfill. It is well suited to an entry console. See less
