Jack Cartwright for Founders Pair of Nightstands, circa 1955
Striking pair of mid-century modern nightstands designed by Jack Cartwright, dating to the mid to late 1950s. Crafted in beautifully grained walnut, each nightstand features a clean rectangular case with a single drawer, accented by a dark contrasting wood frame and trim. The elevated design rests on slender tapered legs and incorporates an open lower shelf, providing both visual lightness and practical storage.
The rich walnut grain, refined proportions, and restrained detailing exemplify the sophisticated American mid-century aesthetic of the period. A versatile pair suitable for use as bedside tables, end tables, or occasional tables.
