Both pieces share a classic and elegant design: a wide, matte gold border sculpted with raised laurel scrolls, lined with an inner frieze of stylized gold palmettes on a white background, and a gold band defining the central area. The rectangular dish is adorned with rocaille cartouches at the corners, a hallmark of the Louis XVI style.

The gilding shows slight wear on the raised rim, a warm patina perfectly in keeping with the age of these early 20th-century pieces. The underside bears the oval blue stamp "Porcelaines de Limoges France".
