the reservoir is made of blown glass in an amethyst (pinkish-purple) hue, decorated with acid-etched motifs: a frieze of small flowers and foliage in frosted white. The stem consists of a griotte red marble column, framed by turned brass fittings, resting on a flared polished brass base. The four-sided cast brass base is adorned with finely molded neo-gothic and foliate motifs.

the brass burner is marked **'l&f - manufacture française - brûleurs à pétrole'**, guaranteeing its authenticity and french origin. It is surmounted by an openwork crown with clover and fleur-de-lis motifs, and includes an adjustment knob. The clear blown-glass chimney, bulging at the base and flared in a tulip shape, harmoniously completes the ensemble.

traces of greening on the brass and slight deposits on the burner are consistent with the piece's age. No recent restoration.
