An exceptionally decorative antique Aesthetic Movement hinged cuff/bangle, dating approximately to the 1880s.

The broad silver bracelet is richly ornamented with finely engraved scrolling foliage and separately applied floral and leaf motifs in contrasting rose- and yellow-gold colors.

The central engraved floral band is framed above and below by intricate pierced/openwork borders with repeating baluster-like elements and applied wire molding.

A row of individually applied silver bead accents follows the upper edge, adding further dimension and texture. The bracelet opens on a hinge and closes at the opposite side.

Possibly British, with Birmingham manufacture a possibility; American manufacture is also possible. No definitive maker or country-of-origin mark has yet been identified.

Antique condition with age-appropriate surface wear, tarnish/patina, minor marks and oxidation consistent with a late-19th-century silver bracelet. The patina has intentionally been left intact. Please review all photographs closely as they form an important part of the condition description.

Attribution note: The design and construction are consistent with late-19th-century Victorian/Aesthetic silver jewelry. Closely comparable examples are known from Britain, particularly Birmingham, while American manufacture cannot presently be excluded.
