The composition features a broad rectangular bronze surround pierced with an intricate pine-needle motif that radiates from multiple clustered points. Variegated panels of Favrile slag glass sit set behind the openwork, their mottled greens, ambers and subtle opalescent tones filtering light through the pattern. The sight opening is bordered by a stepped inner rabbet and includes a semi-circular thumb cut at the top of the backing for removal of the photograph or mount. Signed Tiffany Studios marked number 940 .
