The expansive circular top showcases their signature etched bronze technique, its surface engraved with an intricate, chinoiserie-inspired landscape scene depicting layered architectural forms, flowing waterways, and dense foliage rendered in delicate, incised linework. The etching reveals subtle tonal variation across the bronze surface, with warm coppery browns, soft greys, and unexpected touches of turquoise and coral pigment worked into the design, creating a richly textured, painterly effect reminiscent of ancient scroll paintings translated into a durable metal medium. This etched tabletop rests atop a substantial octagonal base, its faceted panels finished in the Lavernes' distinctive patinated brass, displaying a deep, variegated verdigris coloration that ranges from warm bronze to striking teal-blue oxidation, further reinforcing the piece's sculptural, one-of-a-kind character. The interplay between the finely detailed etched landscape above and the boldly patinated architectural base below exemplifies the innovative material exploration and artistic vision that made the Lavernes' work highly sought after among mid-century design collectors.

This table makes a dramatic centerpiece for a living room or lounge area, its substantial scale and artistic presence anchoring a sophisticated seating arrangement. It suits Asian, Hollywood Regency, Eclectic Maximalist, and Mid-Century Modern interiors particularly well. Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth, and avoid abrasive cleaners on both the etched bronze top and patinated brass base, which could disturb the natural aged finish. The table measures 48 inches in width, 48 inches in depth, and 17½ inches in height. It presents in good condition, with a patinated brass finish displaying age-appropriate wear, and the etched top showing surface scratches and minor scuffs consistent with use.
