Exceptional antique English blue and white transferware porcelain inkwell. Featuring a striking pyramidal silhouette, the ceramic base is beautifully decorated with an elegant neoclassical chariot scene and framed by an intricate, crisp lace-patterned border trim.
The underside of the ceramic base features a rare and detailed blue transfer stamp reading "Castleton England" underneath a matching vignette of the chariot and horses. The central well houses a vintage clear glass ink insert retaining its original gold foil label that reads "Made in France." A natural, beautifully barred pheasant feather quill pen is included to complete this timeless, historic set.
