Born in Tokyo in 1938, Makio Hasuike graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts (1962).

He settled in Italy in 1963 and founded his own design studio in Milan in 1968, one of the first of its kind in Italy.

In 1982, he founded MHWay, an experimental brand of innovative products such as bags and accessories.

This design company is still active today.

For over 50 years, he has collaborated with Italian and international companies, contributing to their success through innovative solutions in aesthetics and content.

The MakioHasuike&Co studio works in a variety of fields: high-tech tools, products for work and leisure, household appliances, furniture, branding, scenography, and architecture.

His projects have received prestigious awards, and some are included in permanent collections, notably at MoMA in New York.

Makio Hasuike is a founding member of the Master's program in Strategic Design at the Polytechnic University of Milan.

In 2016, he received the Compasso d'Oro for his lifetime achievement. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
